in quinta ho una spinta enormemente superiore a prima. prima per avere un po' di spinta mi toccava stare sui 2400 giri.. adesso a 1800 comincia a salire parecchio velocemente...


a consumi non so dirti.. ho fatto il pieno 2 giorni fa e ho fatto solo 120Km. a fine pieno vedremo...

devo avere una piccola perdita di gasolio, credo dal filtro gasolio come mi era successo una volta.. ieri sera ho trovato la macchia sotto l'auto, mentre oggi non ho trovato nulla.

Be' la tua situazione e' particolare, e' evidente che l'auto prima aveva problemi grossi con FAP, anche con la mappa standarda gia' da 1800 giri inizia a spingere bene, anche se non ovviamente quanto con una rimappa.

a te ti perde dal filtro ... a me dalla pomba bosch... ( sai che mazzata ) ...

Se monti un cambio a 6 marce con gli stessi attacchi il lavoro per adattarlo è minimo, ha la quinta un attimo più corta e la sesta un po' più lunga della 5a normale. Se vuoi cerco le specifiche.

Generally speaking, it's a straight swap! AND, the cruise control simply still works in 4th, 5th and 6th!
The current HDi gearbox we're carrying is the ML5C with gearbox code "20LM02".
The gearbox you want, is the ML6C with gearbox code "20MB04".
This (or in my case actually) gearbox originates from a Citroen C5 2.2 HDi with exactly the same engine, the DW12TED4 / 4HX. By the way, both the parts sales guys as my "favorite" garage told me that this gearbox is rare and hard to find, they both smiled telling me it can be done but they don't know anyone who has done it before.. Challenge accepted!

In my search I had found 2 of these boxes:
#1: ML6C, 20MB04, 87.000km, VIN: VF7DE4HXG76471678
#2: ML6C, 20MB04, 104.000km, VIN: VF7DE4HXG76472893

I had checked the specs directly on the Citroen Servicebox, these cars showed up as "C5 5 DOOR ESTATE 2.2 HDi 136 Manual gearbox 6" Niccce! the Peugeot P/N that shows up is "2222 HS" - "Marking MB04" looking good.. When I picked up the box at this specialised PSA parts dealer (De Vos), I asked what is different from the 406 gearbox?

1: They replied that the sprocket for the speedometer is missing on this gearbox since the C5 takes this info from the ABS systems. Nicowico said that when you disconnect this sensor, the speedo still indicate so the 406 also gets this info from the ABS. But what if the Cruise control gets its information directly from the box..?? who's gonna try and skip this? ;] anyway, you'll have to remove the housing of the differential to get the sprocket out of your old gearbox and put it in your new gearbox, then you can easily swap the speedo sensor as well.

Next I've brought my car and gearbox to my "favorite" garage who did the swap for me. After a few hours they called me and said that,

2. The clutch has to be replaced. (excuse my language) the pressure group bearing or "bearing buffer" or "clutch release bearing" is stuck in the pressure plate or "clutch mechanism". You can put it in once in the gearbox, but if you take it out, you cant just put it back again. bummer, more money down the drain since I recently replaced the clutch. The procedure they referred to (I believe) can be found in "D9 technical manual" -> "Gearbox - Manual (ML5T) - Clutch - Removal.pdf" at "Reclip the clutch stop" page 6/6.

2.5: So, having noted the 2 most significant things, I must tell you another "sidetrack". If you are going to replace your clutch (in any situation) because it is old, your flywheel will also be old. In this case you'll have to replace the clutch and flywheel assembly at the same time! this is VERY important in my experience. My previous car was a 2001 406 2.0 HDi (90 bhp). By some cause of accident, the clutch broke after a few weeks. The clutch was replaced but the flywheel was not. after another few months, the car felt like a rocking horse when the clutch was engaged, it felt awful! so please, don't save your wallet on the short term on this.

3: These gearboxes, need the correct transmission fluid. If you put anything other in it than the prescribed by peugeot "Total Transmission 75W80" you'll have a crappy shifting gearbox with only yourself to blame. For some reason, I had replaced the gearbox oil in my 5-speed with this sintofluid 75W-80. It looks to have the same grade, but now I noticed how really crap this is, I could feel the gearbox shifting better as this oil warmed up..! ohhww.. :/

4: Another last thing, never put the 2 liters of transmission fluid in it! it will simply spill when you take your car to its limits and your transmission fluid heats up and has nowhere to go. Fill you gearbox with about 1.80 ~ 1.85 liters, not NOT MORE. EDIT: This applies to the ML5C gearbox! the 6-speed needs a bit more, presumably 2.6 liters!

5: I almost forgot the verry last thing, the gearknob! it is a Peugeot P/N "2403 AH" (Thanks again Nicowico) stealer charged me 34 euros for it. It looks exactly the same as your current one.

E inoltre:

replace a precaution the crankshaft oil seal 0127 45, the 2 drive shaft oil seals 3121 44 and 3121 24 and the guide bush 2105 50.

According to the German manual the ML6C gearbox needs 2.6 liter of ESSO 75W80W EZL 848 or TOTAL 75W80W H6959 oil, 9730 AA

Eh la C5 2.2HDi con 6 marce... mi sa che in Italia non l'hanno neanche venduta. Io posso procurarmi questo cambio, ma non a meno di 700€...
