I got another one today from Raoul in France:

4599055, Cabriolet Injection, 23 juin 1966, Blanc Arosa 1132, Black Leather, Car is in the process of being restored in 2015, was reported as 4499055 but it is clearly an Injection (visible in both photos) so its VIN starts with 459, RUGLES FRANCE

Today we managed to add 4 more cars to the 404 C Registry. The first one was courtesy of the Facebook page I manage called "Peugeot 404 Registry" and for the moment I only have a photo of the VIN plate:

Too many Coupés end up this way....and later the owner will sell the ownership papers and manufacturer's plates, so this number could eventually reappear on a VIN-reassigned car...., ISERE FRANCE

This car has been registered since 1986, but for the firs time since then, we have a photo of it and know that 29 years on, it still exists! 404 Cabriolet No. 4499079, located in Florida, a second owner car, is now for sale on eBay in the USA:
