I recently acquired, thanks to the State of Oregon USA (and a voluntary tax donation of several tens of dollars) a list of every 404 that has ever been registered there. It's a small list, only 51 cars, of which only 3 are 404C models.


These 404Cs are:


4499041 - a 1965 Cabriolet that is still registered in 2012 - located in Multnomah County Oregon - this is a new one to the Registry


4498661 - a 1965 Cabriolet, former location in Oregon: Jackson County Oregon - now in the Turks and Caicos Islands and restored


4596027 - a 1965 Cabriolet Injection, formerly registered in Multnomah County Oregon, now restored and living in Miami Florida


Total: 1673 !

Mr Håkan Granlund of Transportstyrelsen (Sweden) today gave me a huge list of all Peugeot 404s that are in Sweden, whether on the road or not. Obviously the vast majority of the 963 cars are sedans, estates and pick-ups, but to my surprise there were 5 more 404 C models:

4498145, Coupé Carburateur, 19 Aug 1965, this car is on the road in 2012, location: SWEDEN

6802220, Coupé Injection, 13 May 1968, car is not on the road in 2012, location: SWEDEN

....and that makes the total 1687 cars, of which 64 are Swedish.
